How you burn your Harbor Mill Candles greatly affects the performance and longevity in the way your candle will burn and produce its fragrance throw. Maintaining the proper candle care will ensure you have an enjoyable burning and aromatic experience from beginning to end.
Below are the proper steps to take to ensure you are burning your candles correctly:
- FULL WAX MELT POOL. Allowing the candle to burn a minimum of 3-4 hours on the initial burn until it has reached a full melt pool to jar will help prevent tunneling effects.
- KEEP WICK TRIMMED. It is imperative that you keep your wick(s) trimmed to a 1/4″ each time you relight your candle. Trim wick(s) after the candle has burned for not more than 4 hours. It is best to burn the candle in increments of 3-4 hours only to prevent mushrooming and soot build up. Wicks not trimmed properly may produce unnecessary smoke, mushrooming and soot.
- RECYCLE WHEN 1/2″ WAX REMAINS. When there is only a 1/2″ of wax that remains in the container, rinse in warm water with soap to clean and recycle upon completion.
